Our newest classes for teens & preteens, lessons include realistic skills in shading, proportion and perspective for architectural renderings, portraits, still life drawings and paintings. Learning and applying critical thinking, students will utilize various media: oil and chalk pastels, ink, watercolor and acrylic paints, charcoal, colored pencils and markers to achieve their unique artworks.

To add more creative opportunities and challenges of expression, we have included 3D projects using various clays, papier mache, with wood and wire supports when needed. Sculpting increases greater understandings of space, balance and perspective. These projects provide a wonderful foundation for future college portfolios.

Think of all the clothes and accessories your kids wear… they love it at first but then grow tired of it, usually in a short span of time. If they put an effort into what a cap and/or Tshirt might look like if they designed a great pic, emblem or logo, they will be proud of their own imaginations, and happy to wear them. They can choose to create a cap or hat with an original design or character.

Sneakers are great canvases for self expression, using white slip-ons or high tops. Students will learn the process of design, color theory, proportion and fabric choices. They will then be transferring their design to the real sneaker of their choice. They will feel the same for a cap or hat of their choice if they prefer! They will definitely enjoy the learning process and then have pride in their accomplishments!
