SUMMER IS HERE…

and so is STEAM!

HAVE YOU REGISTERED YOUR CHILD FOR OUR ART CAMP?

Ages 6-9

and 10-14

July 6th - August 7th

9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

We are a creative alternative to outdoor day camp! Many kids prefer the indoors, enjoying the comfort of a cool, comfy space to meet new friends who share their interests while tapping into their creative side.

Our projects are age appropriate for each of the classes. We love sharing our skills and imaginations with our campers. With our vast offerings of supplies we will be sure to please our campers and parents.

Our young campers will learn about important artists and create their own paintings and drawings. We also love working in 3D, a great experience to work in clay, papier mach`e and Model Magic, decoupage on wood, often combined with other elements.

Our older group has those mentioned above, and can learn perspective, proportion and realistic drawings in mixed media. They may work with watercolor, acrylic and oil paints, pastels and charcoal. Campers will enjoy choosing their projects and pleased with their own results!

Summer Classes for Children Ages 4-5

Kids Spark STEM with Dr. Carole Reiss of Four Rivers STEAM Charter School

We know each child is unique and learns at different paces, needing additional support and guidance to avoid falling behind. Tutoring and a young age will build skills, knowledge and onfidence so your child thrive, advance and enjoy learning.

If you are looking for additional support for your Pre-K child, we are here for you. Kids Spark STEM has a goal: to provide project based hands-on learning to their students through the use of arts and sciences. This strategy has proved to be very effective with the diverse learning needs for multilingual backgrounds, ADD, ADHD*, dyslexia and other disabilities, reading and math skills. Dr. Carole prioritizes skill development, critical thinking, analysis and integration of various subjects, and hand on activities.

This program is unique, each teacher creates the instructions to meet the needs of each child

*A personal note from Ms. Marlene, Owner/Instructor:

I am thrilled to have this opportunity to work with Dr. Carole, it is very important and personal. I have A twin brother who did not have the opportunity like this in the 1950’s through 60”s. There was no diagnosing, protection or understanding of ADHD and other disabilities. He suffered mental and physical harm as well as having no self esteem or confidence and as an adult, remembers the cruelties and still suffers from PTSD.

All instructors here at Artisan truly love to work with students of all ages and abilities. Many have been our students for more than a decade. We all are parents, and some of us are grand parents; we teach with passion, kindness and patience. We have developed friendships with some of the entire families, and we thank them for their trust. All of us believe we have been given our different talents to be passed along to others.

THE ABOVE PICTURES SHOW VARIOUS ARTWORKS CREATED BY STUDENTS OF ALL AGES AND ABILITIES. These are some of many different skill levels. Enjoy!

GROUP CLASSES FOR ADULTS

FRIDAY GROUP CLASSES FOR ADULTS WITH SPECIAL NEEDS

OUR ORIGINAL, POST COVID OBJECTIVE WAS TO CREATE A WEEKLY SOCIAL GROUP WHERE WE ENCOURAGE AND START CONVERSATIONS IN AN INFORMAL SETTING FOR THOSE WHO HAVE LOST THESE OPPORTUNITIES AND SOCIAL SKILLS. THESE CLASSES WERE SO SUCCESSFUL, HAVE GROWN ORGANICALLY AND ARE VERY APPREICIATED AND ENCOURAGED BY THEIR DEVOTED AND CARING PARENTS. WE ARE SO PROUD OF THE PROGRESS THAT EACH AND EVERY SUDENT HAS ACCOMPLISHED.

WE RECOGNIZE THAT EACH STUDENT HAS THEIR OWN LIKES, DISLIKES AND LIMITATIONS. WE TAILOR EACH PROJECT TO FIT THE STUDENT’S ABILITIES AND INTERESTS, WHILE ALSO ENCOURAGING THEM TO TRY NEW EXPERIENCES. ENCOURAGEMENT, KINDNESS AND PATIENCE GOES A LONG WAY, THEY HAVE COME TOGETHER AS A TEAM TO HELP ONE ANOTHER. SHY AND NON-VERBAL STUDENTS JOIN IN, WITH CLAPPING HANDS AND HAPPY SQUEALS! TEACHERS BEAMING, IT’S A VERY HAPPY PLACE!

OUR CLASSES WILL OFFER 2 - 4 HOURS OF CREATIVITY THAT MATCH OUR STUDENTS’ INTERESTS AND AVAILABILITIES.

THEY HAVE GREATLY IMPROVED THEIR SKILLS, INCREASED THEIR SELF ESTEEM AND PRIDE IN THEIR ARTWORKS WHILE HAVING FUN.

FRIDAYS 12:00- 2:00 PM, FOLLOWED BY 2:00 - 4:00 PM
