WE’RE CELEBRATING OUR 20TH ANNIVERSARY!!!

This is a very special year for me: on February 2nd 2004 I had the thrill of opening the door to a new location of the art school I had created 11 years earlier at a nearby location. Now I was in a beautiful, newly renovated and historic building (Hobart House), in the center of Marlboro, on Main Street! Most of my students followed me here, and I now had the room to create more classes: Mom & Tots, Adult Painting, Teen Sewing, Adult Mosaics, Adult Portraiture & Figure Drawing and Famous Artists, to name a few.

I had the pleasure of having a very talented friend (Susan E.) join as another teacher, then another friend (Ellen K.) and schoolmate at both the High School of Art & Design & Pratt Institute in New York. Ms. Rina came on board with her amazing skills and degree in fine arts and art history which was extremely popular. They have all retired and I’m still here, I can’t imagine retiring, I am blessed to have an amazing staff and we all enjoy sharing our experience, passion and knowledge with our students and their families. Ms. Gail & Ms. Rebecca amaze me every day with their patience, kindness and compassion as they work with our students and families.

Time passes way too fast, bringing all sorts of changes in interests and needs to be considered and applied to succeed and stay relevant. That has always been a priority and consideration for our families with interest in the visual arts and various crafts. We have followed trends and created our own novel subjects, always communicating with our clients. As a result, these relationships have lasted and then extended into their next generations. We are now blessed to have my former students here with there own children who are enjoying our classes!

I have always followed my heart and intuition as it led me down the path to meeting the needs of a steadily growing desire to help the disabled. Some are developmental, others physical, many have both, still others are emotional needs. It’s our pleasure to aid and inspire these students. As a result, we have had to limit the classes for typical kids & teensto be held on Saturdays, leaving the other days for adults with special needs. I deeply appreciate the support and understanding from all of our new and long term clients. Most of all, I am so proud of my staff for providing their passion for art and even more, for their dedication to our students and their families!

Most sincerely,                                                                                                                                                                              Marlene Bohnyak
